iRecord Help
Answers to the questions iRecord's own behaviour raises. Each entry names a symptom, states the cause, and gives the fix as steps. Where something is expected behaviour rather than a fault, it says so.
Recording
- Black screen when recording on a MacThe recording plays back as a black rectangle with correct audio and correct length.

iPhone and iPad
- iPhone or iPad not detected when recording its screen on a MacThe New Recording window says No iPhone or iPad connected, or the recording fails with The device didn't share its screen.
- iPhone screen recording shows 9:41 and full batteryA recording of a cabled iPhone or iPad shows the time as 9:41, full signal bars and a full battery, regardless of what the device actually reads.
Permissions
- Granting screen recording, camera and microphone access on macOSiRecord needs three separate macOS permissions, and asks for each one only where it is needed.
- Granted screen recording access but the Mac recorder still says it is neededYou turned iRecord on in System Settings, came back, and the app still shows Screen Recording access needed or still records a black screen.
