Export formats: MP4 only, no ProRes, no GIF, no WebM

Save Video produces one thing: an MP4. H.264 at every quality except Maximum, which is 4K HEVC.

The quality presets

PresetWhat it is
Social Media720p, smaller file, fast upload
1080pThe default
High QualityUp to 1440p
Maximum4K HEVC, largest file

These are ceilings, not upscales — a take smaller than the preset stays its own size. The Output 1080 × 1920 line above the Save button is computed by the exporter itself, so it is the size you will get.

Not offered: ProRes, WebM, GIF, animated stills, and chapter markers inside the MP4. An export is a plain file you can hand to anything.

Orientation is inherited. A portrait take exports portrait with no configuration — 1080p means 1080 × 1920 on a phone recording.

If you need another container or codec, convert the exported MP4 with a dedicated tool. iRecord does not include a transcoder.
