Export formats: MP4 only, no ProRes, no GIF, no WebM
Save Video produces one thing: an MP4. H.264 at every quality except Maximum, which is
4K HEVC.
The quality presets
| Preset | What it is |
|---|---|
| Social Media | 720p, smaller file, fast upload |
| 1080p | The default |
| High Quality | Up to 1440p |
| Maximum | 4K HEVC, largest file |
These are ceilings, not upscales — a take smaller than the preset stays its own size. The
Output 1080 × 1920 line above the Save button is computed by the exporter itself, so it is the
size you will get.
Not offered: ProRes, WebM, GIF, animated stills, and chapter markers inside the MP4. An export is a plain file you can hand to anything.
Orientation is inherited. A portrait take exports portrait with no configuration — 1080p means 1080 × 1920 on a phone recording.
If you need another container or codec, convert the exported MP4 with a dedicated tool. iRecord does not include a transcoder.
