The iRecord trial, the licence, and using it on two Macs

iRecord is a one-time purchase with a 7-day trial. Days remaining are shown on Home from first launch, so the trial cannot end as a surprise.

What ends when the trial ends. Exactly two things: starting a recording and saving a video. Opening the app, browsing Recordings, playing Takes and editing all stay available permanently. An expired trial never traps footage you already made.

Entering a key

  1. The key is in your purchase email from Lemon Squeezy.
  2. Open Settings → Licence.
  3. Paste the key and press Activate.

Once activated, the key is also shown in Settings → Licence on that Mac, so you can copy it from there.

Two Macs. One licence covers two Macs. The key is stored in the Keychain, so reinstalling iRecord or macOS does not reset the trial and does not lose the licence.

Moving the licence to a different Mac

  1. On the Mac you are leaving, open Settings → Licence → Deactivate This Mac. Recording and saving stop on that Mac; the Recordings stay where they are and stay playable.
  2. Activate the same key on the new Mac.

If activation fails with a message about the activation limit, a slot is still held by a machine you no longer use. Deactivate it as above, or write in and it can be released from our side.

Offline. A licence that has been confirmed once keeps working for 30 days with no network. A failed network check never revokes a licence.
