iRecord system requirements: macOS 15 and Apple Silicon

iRecord runs on macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later, on an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer). It does not run on Intel Macs.

Why macOS 15. Recording your voice uses a macOS 15 capability with no earlier equivalent. On macOS 14 a screen recorder built this way captures the picture and the Mac's own sound and silently drops the narration — the kind of failure you only find after the take, when it is too late to redo it. Shipping a version that could do that was not worth the machines it would reach.

Why Apple Silicon only. iRecord is built and tested on Apple Silicon only. An Intel build would be a build nobody had run.

To check your Mac: Apple menu → About This Mac. Chip must read Apple M-something, and macOS must be 15 or higher.
